100-ish Word Thought: If it ain’t good, don’t do it

Wedding business marketing advice: create helpful, authentic content instead of chasing the algorithm by Julianne Smith of Garter Girl Creative

Don’t feed the bully

Let’s be real, real for sec: You’re not posting for the algorithm. You’re posting for your ideal client. You know, the one who hires you, not likes you.

The algorithm is like a mean girl bully standing between you and your client, whispering, “Make it faster, funnier, trendier, prettier, louder, or else.”

But we’ve been through middle school before. You and I both know bullies are never satisfied.

When you feed the bully, your content gets worse. Inauthentic. Generic. Hollow.

And the bully gets bigger. Louder. More demanding. It’s a bully, after all. That’s what bullies do.

If your content isn’t actually helpful, clear, or aligned with what your clients need to hear, don’t post it.

Good content doesn’t just get seen. It gets saved. Shared. Acted on by your future clients, not by the bully. That’s the stuff that books you.

So next time you’re about to hit post just to stay consistent or relevant, ask yourself: Is this actually good? Or am I feeding the bully?
