100-ish Word Thought: It can get ugly

Why wedding professionals do not need perfect marketing to get more leads and grow their business by top wedding business marketing expert, Julianne Smith of Garter Girl Creative.

Done Still Beats Perfect

One of the occupational hazards of working in the wedding industry is that we’re surrounded by pretty things.

Beautiful photos. Perfect invitations. Incredible flowers. Impeccably designed tables.

So naturally, we want our marketing to be pretty too. But sometimes pretty is just procrastination wearing a nicer outfit.

You don’t need the perfect graphic to post the tip. You don’t need professional photos to answer the question. You don’t need the perfect website before you write the blog post.

And you definitely don’t need to completely understand SEO, AI, email marketing or whatever else before you’re allowed to use it.

Your marketing can be awkward. It can be imperfect. It can even be a little ugly, metaphorically speaking, of course.

Because you know what’s worse than imperfect marketing? Marketing that never gets published.

Put it out there. See what happens. Learn something. Make the next one better.

You’re allowed to get better at marketing while you’re marketing. In fact, that’s pretty much the only way it happens.
