100-ish Word Thought: Use your client’s words

Wedding business marketing advice and how to, Beige background with words "It's just not about you", Julianne Smith

How To Be Heard

They say that all humans just want to be heard. The same is true for your potential clients. If you want your clients to hear your message and ultimately hire you, you must use the words and phrases that they use. Not the words that you - the expert - use. You are not your client. Listen to your clients and then mirror exactly how they talk. Don’t say “rental” when you mean plates or chairs. If you want to attract more of your industry peers, go ahead and keep using words like “shoot” when you really mean pictures, and let me know how it works out for your business.
